DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer at Piston Cloud you will work with the DevOps team to develop our secure Linux distribution, support on-going development of our Piston Enterprise OS™ cloud operating system, and will work closely with the support team to provide world class support to our enterprise customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of operations automation, a proven history of providing excellent support to internal and external customers, a fanatical belief in the command line, and a fondness for dressing fancy on Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Support on-going development of Piston Cloud's hardened Linux distribution.
• Design and develop new features within Piston Enterprise OS™ our enterprise cloud operating system.
• Provide support to enterprise customers as needed.
• Attend regularly hosted community events.

Skills and Experience

• You’ve written software tools to manage 1000+ servers.
• Extensive operations automation experience
• Required: An opinion in the chef or puppet debate.
• Demonstrable experience in support.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Proven ability with UNIX and Linux operating systems.
• Ability to clearly articulate both internally and to customers.
• Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering; or equivalent experience.
