Cloud Operating Systems Engineer

As a Cloud Operating Systems Engineer at Piston Cloud you will work closely with the rest of the engineering team to support on-going development of Piston Enterprise OS™. You will participate in the OpenStack™ community as a thought-leader and developer of features needed to support OpenStack's use by large enterprises with security concerns and regulated environments. The ideal candidate will have a history of open-source contribution, a near-religious belief in testing and code review, a pragmatic desire for continuous integration and deployment, and a fondness for dressing fancy on Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new features within Piston Enterprise OS™ our enterprise cloud operating system.
• Develop and integrate OpenStack™ core services with existing components of Piston Enterprise OS™.
• Draft blueprints and develop features for contribution into OpenStack™.
• Attend regularly hosted community events.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering; or equivalent experience.
• Extensive Python experience
• Extensive Django experience
• Demonstratable experience developing for open source or free software projects.
• Proven ability with UNIX and Linux operating systems.
• Ability to clearly articulate the design and vision of new storage technology features both internally and to the open source community.
